Six on-site inspection steps for diesel generator sets

 After the completion of the diesel generator project, acceptance testing will be carried out. Today, let's talk about the six on-site testing steps for diesel Generator Sets, as follows:

1、 Insulation inspection of generator set

The electrical circuits of the diesel generator should be able to withstand the specified voltage value, frequency of 50Hz, waveform of actual sine wave, and insulation dielectric strength test for 1 minute without breakdown or flashover.

2、 Start detection

Under normal temperature conditions, issue an automatic start command to the automatic starting mechanism (simulating interruption of power supply in the municipal power grid, voltage drop to the specified value in the municipal power grid, etc.), and observe whether the unit can self start, speed up, build voltage, and close power supply; After the unit self starts, observe whether the unit automatically loads. Observe whether the unit can operate with rated load; And check whether the circuit, pipeline, oil circuit, etc. of the low-temperature starting device are unobstructed.

3、 Automatic protection function detection

By simulating the input signals of the corresponding sensors on the control panel of the unit and connecting them to the terminals to give artificial closing signals, observe whether the unit can automatically protect shutdown or alarm.

4、 Steady state operation detection of the unit

Continuous operation test of rated main power: After the unit operates at full load for a period of time under rated conditions, the power, voltage, current, power factor, frequency, oil temperature, fuel addition time, etc. are recorded at regular intervals. Observe whether the unit has any abnormal phenomena such as shutdown or power reduction.

5、 Transient performance test of the unit

Transient characteristic test of generator set: Increase the load suddenly by 50, then slowly increase it from 50 to 100, and then suddenly decrease the load by 100. Repeat this process multiple times and take the average of the results.

6、 Parallel operation performance test

If there is a requirement for parallel system testing, parallel performance testing must be conducted after the single machine testing is qualified.

a、 Simulate a power outage and observe whether all units can automatically start and successfully merge. Record the time from the start of the unit to the successful merging of all units;

b、 Observe whether it can automatically load after successful parallel operation;

c、 Simulate parallel testing to verify the logic of automatic addition and subtraction functions;

d、 Manually simulate a host failure, check if the backup machine starts normally, if the backup contact switch is activated, and if the parallel operation is normal;

e、 Manually restore the host fault, exit the backup generator, exit the backup contact switch, and put the main generator set into normal operation;

f、 Simulate the restoration of mains power, observe whether the unit has switched all loads back to mains power supply after an adjustable delay, whether the unit has automatically stopped, and whether the control device has automatically reset, in preparation for the next operation.
